what people say about us

Here's what Acas Area Director, Wendy Parker, thinks of our work:

'I wanted to say a big thank you for all of your help and support. The complex structures on funding within the Third Sector has often left me confused and your guidance and excellent knowledge has proved invaluable to Acas over the last 12 months. I have been so very impressed with your drive and passion to do what is right for Voluntary and Community Sector organisations and the people within them. Without your support, Acas North East would not have been able to access vital funding for much-needed work in this field.'

Sarah Jane Grey, Chair of The Activity Den, had this to say:

'The outcomes training was excellent and gave us a real test of what we were trying to achieve. Without The Learning Team intervention I firmly believe that we would have been strangled at birth. The leverage the TLT experience gave us was a major support in our struggle to convince others of our credentials. The business plan looks great and it really is our work, but we must admit it was very helpful having experts to bounce things off.'

Peter Harrison, Deputy Director of Gentoo Living, has this to say:

'Gentoo Living has found working with the Learning Team extremely beneficial as we move toward an outcomes focus in our work. The sessions have been very expertly facilitated - hard work, challenging and thought provoking, but fun at the same time. We're looking forward to working more with the team in future as we believe they have help add a new dimension to our discussions'

Comment on Presentation Skills training at N Tyneside VODA:

'I found this course very, very useful...the tutor was a fantastic trainer; knowledgeable, friendly and professional'

Steve Padden, from People and Drugs - Young People's Project in Blyth, said:

'An extremely beneficial course and the follow-up visit was a great help in pulling together what we needed to complete our funding applications. I would thoroughly recommend this course.'

Carl Bashford, Joint Strategic Commissioning Manager for Mental Health from Hartlepool Primary Care Trust, said this:

We found the learning team a very professional and responsive organisation with which to work and were very pleased with the results of the services we commissioned. TLT worked effectively as partners in delivering an evaluation of our pilot project. The evaluation is a useful document that we can use to learn from and develop local services further. There was clear engagement of all the relevant partners of the Open Doors Project and this was done in a sensitive and appropriate manner".

Helen Walker, Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager for National Energy Action, gave this feedback on behalf of the chief executive:

“NEA has moved to an outcomes framework just at the right time for the charity. National Energy Action has received an annual grant from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for the past 25 years. They have never requested outcomes in the past (just outputs and timescales etc). They are the largest funder (currently approximately 50% of NEA’s income) and it is a huge job to pull together the annual funding submission. This year, they asked at last minute and within a very short timescale for evidence from NEA to show how NEA’s delivery of the activities will help them meet departmental outcomes. NEA was only able to provide this information because the charity had gone through the process of setting outcomes for all activities in the bid and linking these to the strategic plan. This enabled the Chief Executive to successfully match up each of our activities with DECC outcomes in a very short timeframe”.
